Balancing Your Food With Buddha Bowls

Becoming one with the universe, or with a hearty bowl of food, that is the promise of this highly popular vegan dish. What’s the deal with these Buddha Bowls anyway? The concept behind them is to achieve balance with food, a little of grains, a little bit of protein, you get your veggie dose and sometimes even a carb punch!

The saying goes “As within, so without” so why not fill yourself up with all the colorful goodness provided by these quick bowls? If you’re ready to give Buddhism a try, I mean in terms of food of course, check out our quick guide below!

  1. PICK A GRAIN:In my case I used gluten free sushi rice unicorn style.
  2. CHOOSE YOUR VEGGIES: I chose avocados, sprouts, broccoli and some sauerkraut for that healthy fermentation dose! *SUPER GOOD FOR DIGESTION*
  3. PICK A CARB: Yes, you heard me! The sweet potato was my first and only choice as it is low on calories but high on protein.
  4. DRESS IT UP: I made this tahini dressing by combining 1 tbsp of tahini, 1 tbsp of lime juice, 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1 clove of garlic minced and some salt and pepper to taste!

NAMASTE FOODIES!
