Rise and shine! But really, time to get outta bed now!
ome through adult-hood! In case it hasn’t dawned upon you (see what I did there?) the only way to get more hours out of the day is to wake up early. Alas, there is a difference between getting-up and being up. The latter may or may not involve a shot or two of caffeine. If you have yet to condition your eyelids to flip open before your alarm goes off, fret not, we’ve got you covered…unfortunately, not with your duvet.
The first step is the most obvious. In order to accomplish this task the wisest choice is to get to bed earlier. How can you accomplish this? By planning ahead! ** Pretends to be shocked** Making a daily plan and keeping a schedule is the best way to make sure that all your dues are done before it’s time to slap on the eye mask and make a soft landing on your bed.
Let there be light. No, really. Pull those blackout shades apart and turn on every light switch within your perimeter. It’s called rise and shine for a reason. Get it straight. This will make it harder for you to go crawling back to the safety of your bed. (The real world can be quite scary, we get it)
Once you’ve manage to step out of the gravitational pull of those cozy covers, it’s time to get going. But not before easing up to yourself first. Do some stretches, DON’T do math. Do some meditation, DON’T read the news first thing. Do some breathing exercises, DON’T open up work emails before actual work hours. By making your early rising a pleasant experience, your body will loose the dread and actually look forward to it’s pre real-world routine.
Once you’ve eased up to waking up completely. Hit the ground running, workout, prepare your breakfast, plan ahead for the day, prioritize and organize. Get that coffee or golden latte going, listen to your favorite morning playlist or finish up that book chapter you’ve been putting off for a while now. You’re now ready to slay your day.
Now that you’ve mastered the first step in adulting, you’re ready to conquer the world, that is until it’s bed time again.
